Featuring every analogue clock time in Italian, with 9 games and 9 challenges. The games really help students develop their skill in telling the time in Italian in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, learning completely independently.
Dominoes games are ideal for language learning, with a multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, and reading. They are perfect for pair and small-group work too. Students work happily challenging themselves and each other to create a perfect domino time-sequence line, on the classroom floor or on a long(ish) table, by matching the times and the clock faces.
This kind of activity is really versatile, and useful not only during the introduction phase of learning these particular clock times, but at many times across the school year - for cover lessons, as starters, warm-ups, plenaries, practice & refresh, and also free-choice activity time - it’s a great idea to have a range of folders ready for students to select particular content according to what area they feel they’d like to work on.
Each set has three games, each with a different challenge:
= Challenge One: times in numerical order, time phrase to clock face
= Challenge Two: times in random order, time phrase to clock face
= Challenge Three: times in random order, clock face to time phrase

Bingo games are perfect for language learning, and they’re really easy to
differentiate too. All my students, regardless of age, find playing the games a great way of consolidating their French vocabulary, and developing their French language skills. The games are perfect for multi-skill language learning: speaking, listening, reading, writing and spelling in French. The grids are designed for all the squares to be crossed off in order to win the game.
I often play with all three time sets at once for maximum challenge - I print each set on different colour paper, so that students can easily identify the time set. I also have laminated sets to use with wipe-clean pens. It’s a lot of prep, but the grids remain in excellent condition for years, so I do get lots of use from them.
Each set includes the following non-editable files:
= 50 clock face 9-square grids, 2 per page (25 pages) to develop listening skills and vocabulary recall
= 30 French time phrases bingo 9-square grids, 2 per page (15 pages) to develop listening and reading skills
= 20 mixed clock face and time phrase 9-square grids, 2 per page (10 pages) ideal for general French language skills development
= calling card with time phrases written out in full, simply tick the relevant column to keep track of which time phrases have been called out in each game

SPANISH CONVERSATION STARTERS #1
This set of Spanish conversation starters features 100 starters in question format, suitable for advanced beginner Spanish to intermediate Spanish students.
Speaking is a language skill that learners tend to find very challenging, and increased engagement with language that requires them to both reproduce language they are already familiar with, and to be creative with that language in order to produce new language is integral to successful language learning.
The questions focus largely on the present tense, with some examples of tenses such as preterite and conditional. I like to include tenses we may not have formally covered, as the activity is not solely about practising language, but also about actively learning it. I encourage students to look for cues and clues in the questions themselves, and this certainly enables them to engage with new or unknown language successfully, and to progress in their learning.

SPANISH CONVERSATION STARTERS TRANSLATION WORKSHEETS #1
This set of Spanish conversation translation worksheets is a companion activity to Spanish Conversation Starters 1, though it works just as well as a standalone translation exercise for advanced beginner Spanish and intermediate Spanish students. The content mirrors that of the conversation starters, and really does help students consolidate and embed essential advanced beginner Spanish to intermediate Spanish language across all key language skills.
All the sentences are in question format. There are 200 translation questions in total: 100 from Spanish to English, and then repeated from English to Spanish. Translation is a specific skill that students need to work on carefully and gradually as they progress in their language learning. It’s quite common for beginner language learners to attempt to translate word for word from their first / home language, and though this will work occasionally, it frequently leads to errors.

ESL CHRISTMAS EFL CHRISTMAS ENGLISH FOR CHILDREN CHRISTMAS BEGINNER ENGLISH CHRISTMAS TASK CARDS NUMBERS 0-31
This resource consists of non-editable files in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully.
These English Christmas Numbers 0-31 task cards are perfect for advanced beginner English learners, and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. I’ve found that lessons around the Christmas period are a great time for revisiting and practising language and structures we’ve looked at over the semester.
The questions are entirely in English, and students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their developing knowledge of English in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling.
Most learners will be able to infer meaning from context and images, which have a real England/UK Christmas theme, such as Christmas crackers and mince pies, with vocabulary and structures repeated throughout, giving learners a chance to familiarize themselves really well with them. Nonetheless, it can be useful to read through the questions with the whole class first to check everyone is able to access the language, and therefore the activity, successfully. Students really do benefit in terms of language learning if they have regular and frequent opportunities to work with the cards, rather than simply working with them in a single lesson.
The English Christmas vocabulary provides a really useful springboard for discussion about Christmas customs and traditions in England and the UK, comparing and contrasting these to other Christmas practices students may know.
The resource comprises the following non-editable files:
48 differentiated question cards, 4 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Print, laminate and cut out. Laminating is definitely worth the extra expense and prep time, as the cards as far more learner-friendly, and last for absolutely years.
answer key & answer recording sheet
question card template for students to apply their knowledge practically and creatively, which is an essential element in successful language learning, and is a really popular activity too.

There are 13 sets of German Challenge Cards in this bundle. My students absolutely love challenge cards, and find them really useful for helping them get to grips with their German. Task cards are great for independent learning - students can work at their own pace, in pairs or in small groups, and really focus on the target language.
The challenge card questions and templates focus on multi-skill language learning, not focusing solely on the target vocabulary - they provide students with opportunities to apply prior learning, and to encounter more complex language they may not yet have covered formally in class.
There are answer keys and recording sheets for every set, though my students often just use their notebooks for writing their answers. Some sets have a question card template too - this is a really popular activity with my students, and they love to create questions for each other. Additionally, this enables them to apply their developing understanding of German in a very practical and creative way. Several sets also have accompanying vocabulary lists, which are great as a learning support resource, as well as a year-round reference resource. I have a series of challenge cards sets ready to go for my students - they’re a very popular choice for our ’free-choice’ learning time.

differentiated question cards, students don’t have to work through all cards at once - they can select cards randomly for short periods of time during lessons, whatever way suits your learning plan best.
answer recording sheet - I don’t actually always use these - I let students use their work notebooks for answers simply use their notebooks for answers. In some set, I’ve included a sheet with a background, and one without. Similarly, in some sets I’ve also included a blank sheet, with no numbers, which is useful when students are working ‘randomly’ through the cards at different times.
answer key - I find having a key essential for students, as it helps them to work and learn independently, and it also offers extra opportunity to engage with language - I tend to laminate sets of answer keys - one answer key for each small group is enough
question cards template for students to apply their knowledge practically, and to create questions for each other - this is a really challenging and popular activity, and I encourage students to include other vocab and verbs they know or learn.

NUMBERS 0-100 LIST I’ve found that these kinds of reference lists are a really successful learning support resource, and are really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - colour pattern, which I often use for display, or black wave. The numbers are written across single page in landscape format.

PRIMARY MATHS NUMBERS 0-10 Word searches a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word, practising and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This is a free word search, focusing on Numbers 0-10. The search offers a really useful learning opportunity - consolidating not only new numbers, but also working on reading, writing, spelling and literacy skills in general - children often focus on the arithmetic skills involved with numbers, but it’s just as important to work on consolidating the written words too. It’s ideal for both independent learning, as a fun-time filler as well as a targeted practice of the written numbers themselves.
Word searches are easily differentiated, with opportunity to increase challenge gradually, and learners have to look very carefully at letters, and how words are constructed to complete the grid. They are able to identify which direction words are located in within the grid by referring to the arrow key. Here, for additional consolidation, they also rewrite each number in the word column. There is an answer grid for the word search, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it! For me, answer keys are essential, as they not only provide learners with another opportunity to engage with language, but they also help them develop more independence in their learning. They’re also a great teacher time-saver - a real bonus!
The word search is in landscape format, mirroring the common direction of reading and writing in English from left to right, facilitating learner engagement with the activity. The landscape format is also really useful for learners whose first language is written from right to left. There is a single grid per 8.5 x 11 (A4) sheet - I like to ensure that text is accessible to all learners, and at this stage of their learning, it’s absolutely essential that language looks accessible and manageable.
Please note this is the math center version of my ESL / EFL Numbers 0-10 Word Search freebie. The file is non-editable in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved - it may not be shared, distributed outside your own classroom, copied or rewritten in any way - please read the Terms of Use.

PRIMARY FRENCH KS3 FRENCH KS4 FRENCH GCSE FRENCH CHALLENGE CARDS 13 sets of challenge cards @ £3.00 each in the bundle.

Challenge cards are an ideal language learning activity, providing multi-skill language learning opportunities. These sets are ideal for a range of French language classrooms from KS2 French / Primary French to KS3 French, and at KS4 French, students preparing for GCSE French as practice and revision.
This kind of activity really does help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their French language skills in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher.
The questions have a multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarise themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling in French in general, and on the focus language, for example, conjugating French RE verbs in the present tense in particular.
I use task not only when we’re focusing on the focus language and grammar, but also for sub lessons, as an all-year-round starter, plenary and general ‘pick-me-up’ activity. The goal is not simply to learn how French works, and how patterns can be identified and applied, it’s also about enjoying working with French, and to feel confident about doing so.
The questions are differentiated, and range in complexity and challenge, with some calling specifically upon prior and new knowledge too, helping students make links and build bridges in their learning. There may be some vocabulary that students are not familiar with - these questions give them the opportunity to learn and apply new language too. Other grammatical concepts are addressed in the questions too, such as gender agreement, direct and indirect objects, personal pronouns and question formats in French.
The question card template available in some sets enables students to apply their knowledge practically and creatively, which is an essential element to successful language learning.
To get the most from the questions, I frequently look at the multiple-choice questions as a whole-group, identifying not only why there is a single correct response, but what the errors are in the other choices. Identifying errors, and explaining precisely why something is inaccurate or incorrect, helps students to think about language a little more laterally, and ensures that they are thinking concepts through, rather than simply relying on learned responses.
All sets have full answer keys and recording sheets.

Set 1 focuses on fruits in English; Set 2 on vegetables in English, and Set 3 on a combination of fruits and vegetables in English, ideal for advanced beginner English and intermediate English students.
I have… Who has… ? is a lively & communicative whole-group language learning game, perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing target vocabulary in English. The game has a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation.
It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too. Point out particular phonemes and sounds, such as the soft c in lettuce compared to the hard c in carrot, and the addition of n to a when preceding a noun starting with a vowel, such as an aubergine or an orange for example.
The aim of the game is to create an English sentence chain as quickly as possible. The game works well if the sentence sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface.
There are 29 fruits featured across the 3 games: green apple; red apple; banana; cherry; date; fig; gooseberries; grapefruit; green grapes; red grapes; honeydew melon; kiwi; lemon; lime; mango; nectarine; olive; orange; papaya; peach; pear; pineapple; pumpkin; raspberry; redcurrants; rhubarb; starfruit; strawberry; watermelon.
and 28 vegetables: artichoke; asparagus; aubergine; green beans; beetroot; broccoli; Brussels sprout; cabbage; carrot; cauliflower; celery; cucumber; garlic; leek; lettuce; mushroom; onion; peas; green pepper; red pepper; yellow pepper; potato; sweet potato; radish; spinach; sweetcorn; tomato; zucchini
All the fruits and vegetables may not be in my longer-term learning plan, but the learning objective moves beyond simply learning individual units of vocab - the images help students infer meaning from context, supported by the visual prompts and clues - this in turn supports them in developing their English language skills in the longer and more complex sentences. There is***implicit input on grammatical concepts*** such as the***lack of adjectival agreement and gender***, and position of adjectives, which are often entirely new concepts for many ESL/EFL learners. Nouns feature definite, indefinite and partitive articles too. This is a very successful way of really getting the most of what looks like a straightforward game for consolidating the target vocabulary - it is actually so much more.
The question card template provides an additional learning activity, with students applying their developing English language knowledge creatively and practically, as they make game cards for the class - this is a really popular activity with my students.
Laminate the cards if you can - they’re more learner-friendly, and they remain in excellent condition for years.

A lively whole-group communicative language learning game, perfect for practicing, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31 in English. The game has a***multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading***, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too.
The aim of the game is to create an English number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card zero, and ending with the final card, thirty-one. The game works just as well if the number sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface.
Laminate the cards if you can - they’re more learner-friendly, and they remain in excellent condition for years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little bit harder on their concentration and pronunciation. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best English accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order.

The resource is non-editable in a zipped format. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom. The license is a single-user license only. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply.
I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of English, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. Students glue the lists into their English vocabulary books, or file them in their English vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful English vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning.
For young and / or beginner English learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows half past the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to English prefer this. When I’m sure that students are confident with a particular time set, I then move on to additional time sets.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - England flag, which I generally use for English vocabulary display, or plain.

practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31. The game has a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading out loud, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation.
The aim of the game is to create a number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card ZERO, and ending with the final card, THIRTY-ONE. The game works just as well if the number sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface. The design is four cards per page, which allows for a large font - this is really important for young learners who are starting to familiarize themselves with both numbers and the written word. Try to print in colour if you can - it adds to the visual appeal of the game, which is a real motivator for learning. The *monster theme *is really popular too.
Download, print out, laminate, cut out & shuffle the cards. I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - children really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little harder on their concentration and reading out loud. Children walk around the room, talking to each other in their best reading out loud voice, sharing the information on their cards,
until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. The game works best played against a timer, regularly over a longer-term series of lessons - can children beat their own time record? Do some high-speed counting warm-up activities, forwards & backwards, to get everyone ready to play!

I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of Spanish, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell time. Children glue the lists into their Spanish vocabulary books, or file them in their Spanish vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful Spanish vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning.
For young and / or beginner Spanish learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows half past the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to Spanish prefer this. When I’m sure that students are confident with a particular time set, I then move on to additional time sets.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag, which I use for Spanish vocabulary display, or plain.

PRIMARY FRENCH TELLING TIME DISPLAY POSTERS QUARTER TO & PAST THE HOUR These telling the time posters / flashcards are perfect for creating an instant introduction to telling the time in French. I’ve found that they’re really useful as visual prompts during lessons, as well as keeping the language fresh as students are introduced and practise how to tell the time. They’re ideal at any time during the school year - it’s good for students to have a focus on functional French in their learning environment - ideal for Primary French and Year 7 Beginner French too.
The times are quarter to and quarter past the hour. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag or black wave, so 52 posters / flashcards in total. Laminate them if you can - they are definitely easier to manipulate if you’re using as flashcards to introduce and/or practise language, and also to display - you’ll be able to use them over and over again for years too.

Primary French FSL French Immersion These French Numbers 0-20 Halloween games cards are great for practising numbers in French with a focus on addition and subtraction - they also offer a really useful opportunity for multi-skill and cross-curricular learning. Children can develop their skills in word recognition and recall, pronunciation, speaking, listening and reading in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. My younger learners really love to work with the cards, and we play as often as we can in the run-up to Halloween. There are lots of games they like to play, and I’ve described several of them in the resource file. I always do a quick warm-up and recap of numbers before we play any number games, and the simple forwards and backwards counting presentation is ideal for this.
There are 72 calculations in total - 36 addition and 36 subtraction. The answer cards are marked with a plus or minus sign. This means that there are 144 cards in total - it’s quite a bit of prep, but do laminate them if you can, as they are far more user-friendly, and also last for many Halloweens!
